Wild West Comedy Gala Night*                         Wednesday May 19 @ 7.30pm

The Last LAUGH (Wrap Show)                             Sunday 30 May @ 7.30pm

How else could you possibly end 12 days of comedy but with the last big laugh until next year!   Many of the acts you loved during the festival appear for one final laugh-in celebration – so come celebrate with us!   You never know what may happen….

Jimeoin – Jimeoin on Ice*          Friday 28 May & Saturday 29 May @ 7.00pm

From the magical world of Jimeoin comes this new, smash hit show. See Jimeoin gracefully skate through brilliantly funny observations on the absurdities of everyday life. With previous sell out seasons in Montreal, Edinburgh and London, you would not want to miss out... Get your skates on.

“As sharp as they come, laser-accurate with his observational comedy... Each punchline is beautifully underlined with a subtly arched eyebrow. In an age of warped wit, he is disconcertingly inoffensive.” London Evening Standard

Akmal - The Life of Akmal*         Friday 28 May & Saturday 29 May @ 9.00pm

Akmal Saleh is back with a new show and his own autobiographical book! The Life of Akmal is more than just a re-telling of extracts from Akmal's much anticipated book release of the same name, but a hilarious stand up show that touches on the topics in the book, from growing up in Egypt to migrating to Australia and being kicked out of the Coptic Orthodox Church to finding solace in his new found religion of comedy.

“Saleh’s acutely observed look at life in the low-income, new Australia bracket was a hilarious delight, charmed the socks off the crowd.” Frank Gauntlet, Sydney Telegraph

Kitty Flannagan –Charming and Alarming*            Saturday 22 May @ 7.00pm

For the past eight years Kitty has been taking her unique brand of 99% fact free humour to the world.  It’s been a long time coming but now she’s finally ready to do her thing in Perth, to launch herself on a largely unsuspecting festival audience. Kitty will showcase a definitive collection of her best standup along with some special extras as well...just like a DVD only in real life!

Kitty describes her comedy as:“A little bit oowah” (Which is to say people often laugh then say: “Oowah, did she really say that?”)

“Some of the funniest, traditional, freeform standup comes from visiting Australian Kitty Flanagan” – The Observer (UK)

Ben Cousins – A Rock Opera#          May 19 Gala appearance @ The Astor                                                  May 20 - 22 & 25-29 @ 8.30 @ The Hellenic Centre.

This show sold out at the 2009 Melbourne Comedy Festival, come and find out what everyone is talking about.

Up-to-date, near-the-knuckle and no-holds-barred!  If you have been worries that anarchic and uncompromising Australian satire was on life support the "Ben Cousins - a rock opera" will reassure you that it is still breathing sporadically!

Based on the crucifixion, resurrection and redemption of Ben Cousins with a thumping soundtrack of 70’s and 80’ pop song parodies, this show is a biting satire of society and the media.

Devised and directed by critically acclaimed football satirist Kieran Butler (Collingwood ruined my Life, **** The Scotsman), 'Ben Cousins - a rock opera' is "Brilliantly scripted and performed... almost obscene value for money" Greg Potter, The Age online

Funny Sculptures aims to involve primary school students in the interpretation of comedy and culture from joke, riddle or funny saying to three dimensional form.  Students will have the opportunity to attend a workshop where they can find a joke, create the idea and be assisted in the craft of making a sculpture.  Our intention is for children to become aware of alternative forms of comedy and culture in a creative and fun way!

The exhibition will launch on April 23 at the Alexander Library, Perth!
